Videography guide
A video production workflow from brief to delivery
Most delays in video work come from unclear handovers between stages. A written workflow tells the client and your team what happens next and who is responsible.

1. Brief
Capture the goal, audience, where the video will be shown, length, deadline and budget range. A short intake form saves a long call.
2. Quote and contract
Send a phased quote, then a contract that repeats the scope, revision limit and payment schedule. Take the deposit before booking crew.
3. Pre-production
Agree the shot list or script, locations, people on camera, releases and call sheet. Share one timeline everyone can see.
4. Shoot
Check the shot list before wrapping. Back up footage in two places before leaving the location.
5. Edit and review
Deliver a first cut, collect all feedback in one place and in one round, then deliver the next version. Count the rounds against the contract.
6. Delivery and close
Export the agreed formats, send the final files, invoice the balance and ask for a review or referral while the project is fresh.
